The fire was under control within minutes but video captures frantic moments during evacuation

A trash compactor fire led to the evacuation of Georgia's largest mall on Friday after the smoke set off alarms and sprinklers.

Gwinnett Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge told 11Alive that the fire was reported around 11:52 a.m. near the food court. Security crews were able to douse the fire before fire crews arrived. The fire was considered under control in about 10 minutes. No actual fire was found inside the mall itself.

Social videos show the moments when the alarm first went off and sprinklers were apparently activated.

No injuries were reported and the only smoke was seen near the delivery and service entrance by the food court. The area has since been cleared and patrons have re-entered the mall.
