Why there is a LEGO man at the Tex McIver trial

Sitting in the courtroom is a little toy warrior. The story behind him might surprise you.

The murder trial of Atlanta attorney Tex McIver is in its second week. As day six of testimony progresses, the courtroom is decorated with a little extra character.

Sitting on top of Judge Robert McBurney's nameplate is a yellow LEGO warrior. McBurney said his son gave him the warrior to "defend against evil attorneys."

McIver is accused of intentionally killing his wife, Diane McIver, on Sept. 25, 2016. Diane McIver died after being shot in the back with a handgun while in the passenger's seat of an SUV. Tex was riding behind her and had a loaded revolver in his lap. According to Tex, the revolver fired on its own and claims that the shooting was "a horrible accident."
