Former Chichester's manager opens baby boutique in Macon's historic Ingleside Village

Chichester's, which sold baby clothes, closed in Macon after being open for 40 years. The former manager chose to fill the void after the store closed its doors.

A baby boutique opened in Macon's historic Ingleside Village in early March.

Julie Sowell says she decided to open the boutique after the Chichester's on Vineville closed back in February. She served as the manager and buyer at the store for 16 years.

"When Chichester's closed, I decided that I needed to open a baby boutique because Macon needed a baby boutique," Sowell said.

That's when she found the location for Lullaby Baby Boutique in Ingleside Village.

"We just happened to see this space was empty one day, and we went over to the lamp shop and they actually had it for rent and we thought it would be a perfect spot," she said about finding the location.

"I just always had a love for baby clothes and the baby department and I always wanted my own store, so it was the perfect tme to do that."

Sowell and her daughter Kati Black currently run the boutique together.

Black says you can reach them on their Facebook page or website.

The boutique is located at 2312 Ingleside Avenue and open from 10 a.m to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
