Dan Hudson has been serving his customers barbeque for 8 years. “It's my home and I intend on it to be for a long time, I want the best for it,” said Hudson.
He just added something extra to his store, a produce aisle and it may not be quite as full as customers may be used to seeing...
“The Piggly Wiggly that was in town, when they closed down, there was no produce to get anymore,” said longtime Roberta resident Winston Brown.
In order to get produce, people of Roberta have been having to travel to Fort Valley or Macon which is over a twenty minute drive away.
“I'm trying to fill a void.. When I was taught then I was little you got to have your greens, you got to have your vegetables. It's easy to stop by McDonalds and grab a burger on your way home from work,” said Hudson.
Brown says he's just happy there's a place close by where he can pick up tomatoes and romaine lettuce for his wife. He knows that he's eating well tonight. “Ill be here as much as needed to be. She's the cook so that's the honey to do stuff,” said Brown
Giving customers the option to get a healthy bite, to go along with a home cooked meal.
