CONYERS, Ga. -- Police say he trafficked a woman for sex and money, now a New Jersey man is in a metro Atlanta jail.

According to Conyers Police Sgt. Buck Vaughn, they were first tipped off to the disturbing arrangement on April 13. In a statement, Sgt. Vaughn said a friend was concerned about the victim and performed a welfare check at the Horizon Extended Stay Hotel.

There, they found the victim, a 20-year-old woman - and indications of human trafficking. They soon learned that she had just moved from the state of Washington and met 36-year-old Brad Gaskins in DeKalb County. He allegedly offered her a place to stay but at a disturbing cost.

The victim said Gaskins provided a hotel room but, to keep it, she had to provide sexual services to callers responding to an advertisement he had created.

Gaskins later returned to the location and was arrested on charges of trafficking a person for sexual servitude and aggravated sodomy.

An organization known as 4Sarah has since provided the victim with housing and other resources. The organization focuses on providing support for women who are victims of sex trafficking.
