ATLANTA - A tornado warning for Northern Greene County has been issued until 5:45 PM. At 5:12 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Greensboro, moving northeast at 20 mph, according to the national weather service.
Locations impacted include Greensboro, Union Point, Woodville, Greshamville, Carey and Penfield.
A new severe thunderstorm was issued for Northwestern Emanuel County in east central Georgia, North central Treutlen County in east central Georgia and Southeastern Johnson County in east central Georgia.
Earlier Monday evening, Northeast Georgia experienced some nasty weather following the weekend as multiple counties were under various weather warnings.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for central Rockdale County and southeast DeKalb County until 4:45 p.m. It has since been canceled.
At 4 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Henry County and Rockdale. By 4:20, the NWS expired the warning for both counties.
Around 3:55 p.m., the National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near McDonough. The NWS stated it was moving northeast at 15 mph.
Overnight rain and wind knocked down several trees and has cut off power for many in metro Atlanta.
There was at least two to four inches of rainfall and a flood warning was issued for the following rivers in Georgia: Big Creek near Alpharetta, which will be impacting both Forsyth and Fulton Counties.
The flood warning was extended until Tuesday evening.
