Here's what we know

ATLANTA — Authorities say they have arrested the person who fired a gun in an Atlanta school parking lot Monday.

According to authorities, the shots came after an argument between a female Benjamin E. Mays High School student and a male acquaintance. Police said that as the argument escalated, the suspect, who is not a student, broke a car window. The student received injuries from broken glass.

At least one shot was fired into the air as a male suspect was driving away. Atlanta Public Schools police secured the campus and placed the school on lockdown.

After a search that included the U.S. Marshals, Atlanta Public Schools Police and the Atlanta Police Department, authorities arrested 19-year-old Patrick Williams in Cobb County.

11Alive confirmed Williams was booked around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon and charged with reckless conduct, felony terroristic threats, aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm on property of another and carrying weapons within a school safety zone.

Williams made a first appearance before a judge at 11 a.m. Thursday where he was denied bond. His next court date is May 10 at 9:30 a.m.
