Open Streets Macon, car-free celebration in downtown Macon postponed

Open Streets Macon, which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 22, was postponed due to the weather.

The event is a car-free celebration held in downtown Macon, bringing the community together to skate, walk, bike and use the public streets in other creative ways, according to its website.

The 1.8 mile route closes areas from Cherry Street down to Martin Luther King Blvd. for about four hours.

There are several activities during the event including yoga, line dancing and Zumba An Open Streets Macon Bicycle Parade kicks off the event.

The committee is looking to discuss a new date some time next Monday, according to Rachel Hollar with Open Streets Macon.
