DULUTH, Ga. — An 18-year-old Duluth High School student is facing charges tied to two alleged sexual assaults that occurred over the past month. Two other teens have been charged in connection with one of those incidents.

On March 3, according to a police report, Chris Shon Da Vell Carter and two other teens, ages 14 and 15, forced a 19-year-old girl with special needs into a bedroom during a birthday party at an apartment complex and sexually assaulted her.

During that incident, the three teens allegedly took the girl's clothes off against her will and forced to her have sexual intercourse with them.

In the other incident, police said Carter sexually assaulted a 15-year-old high school student during an off-campus incident at the Duluth Town Green on March 13.

A police report indicates that after Carter and the girl began kissing each other, Carter forcibly took off her shirt and bra. When she told him no and pushed his hands away in order to put her clothes back on, Carter persisted, more aggressively. Police said Carter took the girl's cellphone and placed it in his pocket to prevent her from leaving.

The report says despite the girl's telling Carter no repeatedly, he persisted, and sexually assaulted her.

Carter faces a number of charges for the two sexual assaults, including two counts of rape, one count of aggravated sodomy, two counts of false imprisonment, one count of child molestation, one count of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16, one count of aggravated assault and one count of misdemeanor theft by taking.

He is being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.

Meanwhile, police said the 14 and 15-year-old boys are being held at the Gwinnett County Juvenile Detention Facility. However, a Duluth Police spokesman told 11Alive they will likely be charged as adults.
