DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating after a man died after being shot, Tuesday evening.
DeKalb County Police officers responded to 2501 Columbia Drive, south of I-20, just before 5 p.m. to reports of a person shot. When they got to the location, a Citgo gas station, they found a man in his late 20s in critical condition.
He later died from his injuries.
At this point in the investigation, police believe the victim may have been inside a car when he was shot and fell out of the vehicle. They believe the vehicle then drove off from the scene. Right now, police do not have a description of the it.
Witnesses on scene told police they heard multiple shots in the businesses' parking lot. Detectives are now investigating to determine what led up to the shooting.
"Usually, these gas stations, they do have pretty good surveillance cameras, so we'll be able to view those and see if we can get some sort of I.D. of the vehicle," said Shiera Campbell, a police spokesperson for the DeKalb County Police Department.
No other information was available.
