A large area of rain moving across the southeast United States is bringing rainy days to much of Georgia for the next five to seven days.
11Alive Storm Tracker Wes Peery says a broad area of low pressure just offshore in the Gulf of Mexico is producing widespread clouds, showers and storms that are moving northward across parts of the southeastern states.
Thursday and Friday
On Thursday and Friday, showers are expected in the morning and early afternoon each day, with heavier showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon hours. The high on Thursday is expected to be 79, on Friday it's expected to get up to 82.
Saturday and Sunday
Partly cloudy skies are expected on Saturday and Sunday with showers and thunderstorms expected late in the day. The highs on both days are expected to be 85 degrees.
Early next week
The weather on Monday and Tuesday is expected to be very similar to the weekend, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms late in the day both days. The highs on both days are expected to remain in the low-to-mid-80s.
