Man running from deputies found hiding in laundry room

The man who deputies said help hide the suspect was also arrested.

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- A man who ran and hid from deputies and the man who deputies said help hide the suspect were arrested in Hall County.

Steven Walden, 29, of Dacula was pulled over for a traffic stop around 11 am on June 18 on East Jones Frive near Friendship Road. Deputies said he was wanted for a misdemeanor count of obstruction and driving on a suspended license in Gwinnett County. Deputies said during the traffic stop Walden resisted arrest and fled on foot.

This sparked a manhunt the area, bringing in extra patrol and K9 units.

Around 3:05 pm, Walden was found hiding in the laundry room if a home at a mobile home park located in the 7000 block of Evergreen Way.

Deputies also arrested Jonathan Kyle Liston, 30, of Buford who was the resident of the home Walden was found hiding in. Police said Liston initially lied to deputies about Walden being inside the home.

Walden is charged with one felony and two misdemeanor counts of obstruction of an officer. He's also charged with misdemeanor theft by taking and driving with a suspended license. Walden is being held on $14,200 bond.

Liston is charged with one misdemeanor count of obstruction of an officer. His bond was set at $2,950.
