ATLANTA – Police are searching for a masked suspect who got away with thousands of dollars from a metro-Atlanta gas station.

Police said officers were called to the Majik Market at the intersection of Bolton Road and Marietta Street around 1:30 a.m. Friday for a robbery. Officials said the clerk was in the middle of the store cleaning up when the masked suspect entered.

Police said the robber, a man, was wearing a mask, gloves, and a hat when he entered the gas station with a firearm and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect went into several locations inside the store and police said the preliminary investigation showed he took $7,000.

The suspect escaped from the scene in a black Toyota sedan that was waiting outside. Police said it headed east on Bolton road. Police are looking into security footage at the gas station and are trying to determine what exactly happened.
