ATLANTA -- An accident that caused a slowdown on Midtown I-85 traffic early Monday morning also left a motorcyclist dead, police confirm.
The accident happened along southbound I-85 around 1 a.m. and was apparently the result of the motorcyclist veering into another lane and hitting the driver's side door of another vehicle. Atlanta police said the impact caused the rider to be thrown from the bike causing fatal injuries.
Police said the other driver remained on the scene and that they have not yet finished investigating the deadly crash.
