DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – A 10-year-old girl is recovering in the hospital after being shot while she was sleeping in her room.
Around 10 p.m. Wednesday, DeKalb County Police responded to apartments on Hatton Drive near Scottdale Road for several shots being fired.
Police said there was a shootout in a parking lot between two group of men and one of the bullets hit the girl in the arm while she was asleep in her bedroom.
“I just heard gunshots, I just heard gunshots,” Vicki Randall, a neighbor said.
Police said the girl was transported to a local hospital in good condition.
Officials have yet to arrest anyone in this shooting.
