Lawrenceville man blames rape on sleep walking

She told police she thought she knew who climbed in bed behind her.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- A woman was lying in her friend's bed when she felt someone get in behind her. She told police she thought she knew who it was.

It happened on April 8 at a home in Lawrenceville at about 1:00 AM. The woman told police the person rolled down her pants and tried to have sex with her, but before that could happen, she turned around and realized it was another person who lived in the house, Ricardo Cole, Sr.

She reportedly pushed him and away and asked what he was doing. His reply, sleep walking.

Cole reportedly apologized and left the room.

The victim told police she didn't tell her friend about the incident and haven't talked to either of them since.

On Aug. 15, 54-year-old Cole was arrested and charged with rape.
