The video was posted Wednesday, and has more than 5,000 shares and over 115,000 views.

The wife of a candidate who plans on running for Sheriff in Clayton County was arrested after sending several emails to the current sheriff.

Robert Hawes says he plans on running for sheriff in Clayton County in 2020. He claims current sheriff, Victor Hill, got a warrant for his wife's arrest because of several emails she recently sent him.

The couple went live on Facebook the day she was put in handcuffs. The video was posted Wednesday, and has more than 5,000 shares and over 115,000 views.

"Hey, Facebook just letting you know, since I announced I'm running for Sheriff, Sheriff Victor Hill has been harassing us. So now they are locking my wife up for harassing emails, cause she sent the email telling him blessings," he said in he video.

"They're locking her up for harassing communications," Hawes said. "He got offended."

They claim the emails are not offensive.

"I said, 'Where there is love, fear cannot exist'," Hawes' wife Gerrian says in the video. "Everything I said was peaceful, it was loving."

In the Facebook video - as the deputies continued escorting Gerrian to the cruiser - the couple becomes more agitated.

"Something is wrong with Victor Hill. This is not right, it's wrong," she says.

"Victor Hill thinks the law is his personal tool whenever he gets pissed off. I'm still running for Sheriff, Victor Hill," Robert promises.

11Alive's Ron Jones was there after the couple returned home from jail after being released Thursday. When they spoke to 11Alive, Gerrian still insisted her emails were not harassing. She claims her intentions were pure.

"I was trying to be encouraging. There is no fear in love. There is no fear in love," Gerrian says. "You have nothing to be afraid of Sheriff Hill. Nothing."
