Couple found dead in Forsyth home with children after sending an 'alarming' message to friend

A husband and wife have been found dead. Two children, both under the age of ten, were alive inside the home.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office investigated a home with two dead adults inside on Monday morning, August 20, 2018.

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -- Authorities found two children under the age of 10 huddled near the door inside a home Monday morning, where their parents were dead as the result of a murder-suicide.

The incident happened in the 5400 block of Memphis Street in the unincorporated part of Forsyth County.

According to Corporal Doug Rainwater of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, a concerned friend telephoned authorities at about 3:45 Monday morning after receiving an "alarming text or phone call from one of the deceased adults inside the residence at some time before 3:45."

When deputies arrived at the home, they discovered the bodies of 50-year-old Adrian Brewster and his wife, 32-year-old Jackielyn Brewster inside. Two children, both under the age of ten, were found alive inside the home. They have been placed with family members.

So far, the investigation has found that Jackielyn murdered her husband at some point over the weekend before taking her own life early Monday morning.

Rainwater says that deputies have been out to the home previously on calls of a non-violent nature.

He told 11Alive's Jennifer Leslie that the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit has been investigating the incident and says the area is safe.

"We do believe the crimes that were committed this morning were contained in this house," Rainwater said.

He says the investigation is still ongoing.
