Flash flood watches are currently in place stretching from Mississippi and Alabama up through Arkansas. More watches will likely be issued further north into Missouri and upper Midwest as the storm continues it's trek.

One person has already died from the effects of Gordon when a tree fell on a mobile home in Pensacola.

The storm prompted a tornado watch east of the center that included areas from Mobile over to Destin, Florida. Bands of rain moving in around Gordon cause heavy rain, strong wind and storm surge along the coast.

Areas west of the center have experienced limited effects from Gordon. Louisiana was on the "calmer' side of the storm and escaped much of the wrath of Gordon.
