Kennesaw State University offering free football tickets to Florence evacuees

If you have a valid North Carolina or South Carolina ID, you can receive a complimentary ticket to the 5 p.m. home opener at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

KENNESAW, Ga. – As Georgia sees an influx of Florence evacuees, Kennesaw State University is offering free sports entertainment.

On Thursday, the KSU’s Department of Athletics invited those who have been displaced by Florence to attend their Saturday football game as guests of the Owls as they take on Alabama State.

If you have a valid North Carolina or South Carolina ID, you can receive a complimentary ticket to the 5 p.m. home opener at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

KSU said those affected can go to the stadium ticket office starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday with your valid ID to received the free ticket. Guests with children will also receive a ticket for them.

A limited supply of tickets is available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this hurricane," said Milton Overton, Director of Athletics. "For those families displaced by the storm and seeking shelter here in northwest Georgia, we welcome you to our home and hope that a few hours of college football can provide a sense of normalcy during this difficult time."

Those planning on getting the free ticket are encouraged to park in the Grey Lot ($15 on gameday). All lots will open at noon on Saturday.
