DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Two more suspects - a football player and his cousin - face serious charges connected to a 2018 murder in the Anneewakee Falls subdivision near Douglasville.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Leandrea Latory Morgan and Jalen Malik Morgan were arrested and indicted at the end of December for felony murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The indictments were in connection with the May 30 incident in which a man died after being found shot next to the subdivision's clubhouse, according to the Douglas County Sentinel

Authorities initially arrested five people in connection to the crime and charged them on several counts, including felony murder.

Since then, more investigation has led authorities to arrest Jalen, a football player for Alexander High School, and his cousin Leandrea. This brings the total number of suspects in the investigation to seven.

Both Morgans had a first appearance in front of a Douglas County judge on Jan. 9, where they were denied bond.
