Shooting at an Athens teen party leaves 1 hospitalized

ATHENS, Ga. — Police say a shooting at a party over the weekend left a teen hospitalized. 

It happened just after midnight Saturday morning, in the 100 block of Gaines School Road.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, an initial investigation shows someone fired a gun during the party. One teen had to be taken to a local hospital to treat non-life threatening injuries, however police were unclear whether he was shot or the injuries came from some other source.
