Suspects wore surgical masks, tied up victims during Buford home invasion, police say

Police say the men stole cash from inside the home before getting away in a small, dark color SUV.

BUFORD, Ga. — The search is on for several men who police say tied up a family during a terrifying home invasion in Buford Saturday morning.

Gwinnett County Police said officers were sent to investigate a home invasion around 7 a.m. June 22 at a house off Primrose Park Road. 

According to the victims, three suspects broke through a back window and tied them up. The victims told police the men were wearing surgical masks and claimed to be police officers. They also said the men had Jamaican accents. 

Police say the men stole cash from inside the home before getting away in a small, dark color SUV. 

One of the victims was able to escape to a neighbor's house where the police were called. Police added one of the residents had minor injuries that were treated at a local hospital. 

Police are no asking anyone who may have information about the home invasion to come forward. Tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) and can receive a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
