This wasn't the only robbery law enforcement is investigating in Athens.

Just before midnight on that day, the University of Georgia Police Department said they responded to a similar call for a separate crime in the lower Russell Hall parking lot off Cloverhurst Avenue.

According to an alert sent to students, the victim said he was approached by two black men who asked to borrow his phone. They immediately told him to get on the ground. He told police that both men were armed with handguns and that they took "several items" from him.
