HBO teases ‘The Outsider’ and ‘Lovecraft Country’ in 2020 programming preview

We are now getting a first look at two television projects that are being manufactured in Atlanta.

ATLANTA — Earlier this year, The A-Scene reported that HBO would be bringing at least 200 jobs to Atlanta, and we are now getting a first look at two television projects that are being created in Atlanta.

In a digital promo “Coming Soon in 2020” released on YouTube, the network offered quick glances of its hit TV shows like “Westworld,” “Barry” and “Insecure.” But, for the first time, audiences were shown the “The Outsider” and “Lovecraft Country."

“The Outsider” is based on Stephen King’s novel of the same title.

Production took place from February until July this year. The miniseries is directed by and stars Jason Bateman. Georgia fans of “Ozark,” a hit Netflix original series are familiar with Bateman filming his projects in Buford.

“Lovecraft County” is another major production that is currently still filming throughout Georgia. Production began in June and continues to film throughout parts of Marietta under the basecamp code “RP."

When The A-Scene went to visit BlackHall Studios in October, CEO Ryan Milsap confirmed that the series had a “Game of Thrones budget” and was utilizing three sound stages at his facility.

Michael Kenneth Williams, who once joined played in HBO’s inner-city drug traffic series “The Wire" returns as the star of "Lovecraft Country."

His co-star Jurnee Smollett also retweeted his excitement for the show's release.

Both new series will hit your screens next year.
