Flying Biscuit Cafe will move its original restaurant in Candler Park

The Atlanta mainstay will move to a familiar location.

ATLANTA — As one of Atlanta's most celebrated restaurants prepares to move, a familiar name in the local dining scene will take its former home.

Local breakfast institution Flying Biscuit Cafe will relocate its original location in Candler Park to the DeKalb Avenue space that previously housed tasting menu restaurant Lazy Betty, according to a building permit application submitted to the City of Atlanta.

Lazy Betty, one of five restaurants to receive one star in Atlanta's first Michelin Guide, opened on DeKalb Avenue in 2019. Last year, owners Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips announced plans to move the restaurant to Midtown and take over the former home of Hugh Acheson's Empire State South.

Lazy Betty closed on DeKalb Avenue Feb. 15. The owners hope to reopen on Peachtree Street in mid-March, Hsu told Atlanta Business Chronicle.
